Macau bounces back as top-grossing casino location in terms of revenue

The six casinos in Macau brought in a total of $10 billion in gross gaming revenue in the first half of this year, far above the $7.5 billion recorded by Nevada casino operators. Prior to the coronavirus outbreak, Macau was the highest-grossing casino location in the world thanks to its close proximity to China and its residents' passion of gambling. The worldwide health crisis led to the loss of its status. Although there are plenty of high rollers in Las Vegas, the numbers game on this front favors China, which is good news for Macau operators. The good news is that there are some indications that whale populations are beginning to recover.
