A casino in Macau that wishes to remain anonymous has suffered losses of about US$200,000 after con artists managed to change the denominations on gaming chips.
According to Macau's Judiciary Police, the plan entailed altering standard house US$13 chips to give the impression that they were worth $1,300 apiece. 33 tampered chips in all were found by investigators, and five Chinese nationals from the mainland were taken into custody.
