Macau casinos account for 77% of government taxes

The main source of revenue for the Chinese Special Administrative Region was still Macau casinos last year.

Despite significant changes to the gaming industry brought about by the COVID-19 pandemic—most notably the departure of most junket groups that catered to high rollers and VIPs—the casino market remains Macau's economic engine.

As a result, Macau's resorts are making significant investments in non-gaming attractions and shifting their marketing strategy to target a wider audience.
