Macau sees 404% annual revenue increase for September

The gaming hub of Macau has released data on its gaming income for September, which increased by 404% from September 2022.

The amount, $1.84 billion, was significantly higher than what it reported for the same time period in 2017. It was down from August, though a significant storm on September 1 that the Macau government ordered the temporary closure of six casinos had an impact on business in September. The casinos reopened the following day.

Overall, Macau has seen tremendous growth since the Chinese government announced the end of its zero-Covid policy in response to rare nationwide protests.

That's a massive increase for Macau's gaming revenue compared to last year. Ending the zero-Covid policies has really opened things up for the casinos and tourism again. As long as health and safety stay reasonable, the economy benefit is good.
