Magic mushroom medicine is used for the first time ever to treat gambling addiction in a UK trial.

A group of British researchers is prepared to conduct a groundbreaking clinical experiment utilizing magic mushrooms' active component to treat gambling addiction.

Psilocybin, the hallucinogenic chemical found in certain fungus, will be administered to research participants starting in October as part of a government-funded effort to create a remedy that may be made available through the NHS. At London's esteemed Imperial College, it will be conducted by four leading neuropharmacologists, including former governmental drug czar David Nutt. This is a first of its kind, according to research director Rayyan Zafar.

The magic mushroom contain a chemical compound called psilocybin which many scientists believe is the curative substance in the mushroom. It is quite impressive and a welcome development. More research is needed to perfect the treatment.
