Five daily fantasy operators in Maine are closing their doors, according to a public notice released by the Maine Gambling Control Unit. This is because the operators neglected to renew their licenses. Underdog, Data Force, Bidventures, Boom Shakalaka, and Sportshub are the operators pulling out of the Maine market.
Following its $391,850 fine in October 2023 for purported regulatory infractions pertaining to its pick'em-style competitions, Underdog is departing the Pine Tree State.
Underdog was able to petition the Commissioner of the Department of Public Safety for an adjudicatory hearing after the gaming regulator issued the fine.
