Following a mass shooting in another part of the state on Wednesday night that left eighteen people dead, both of Maine's gaming establishments were temporarily closed.
The crime scenes in Lewiston, Maine, are roughly 14 miles away from the Oxford Casino Hotel. The distance between the two, Hollywood Casino Hotel & Raceway Bangor, and the murders is 106 miles.
There has been no word on when the casinos will reopen as of Thursday morning at 11 a.m.
The Oxford casino stated on its website that it closed "out of an abundance of caution" for the safety of its staff and patrons.
