Major Belgian clubs find loophole in betting sponsorship regulations

Belgium's top football league, the Jupiler Pro League, has seen clubs circumvent a new law that prohibits betting companies from serving as primary sponsors.

In early January, the nation's gambling commission enforced more stringent regulations regarding gambling sponsorships.

Sports teams are only allowed to collaborate with organizations that indirectly promote gambling brands but do not directly run games of chance under these restrictions. Foundations, fan clubs, applications, websites with football information, and online broadcasting platforms are a few examples.
