Major League Baseball seeks to ban betting on games outside Nevada

Rob Manfred, commissioner of Major League Baseball, asserts that his organization opposed sports wagering outside of Nevada.

The league was able to identify multiple incidents this year involving individuals who were not allowed to be associated with the game thanks to monitoring of different betting activities, according to the commissioner.
Baseball has long been concerned about how gambling might compromise the fairness of the game. There have been gambling-related incidents in the sport since 1919.

I think the decision to ban betting on games outside Nevada by Major League Baseball might have several motives, such as protecting the integrity of the sport and preventing corruption. It remains to be seen whether this ban will be successful in achieving its intended goals.
