Major League Baseball worried about threats to players regarding gambling

While expressing confidence in the league's ability to apprehend personnel who violate the league's gambling policies, the commissioner of Major League Baseball voiced concerns about player safety in relation to gambling.

He said he has heard from players about threats they are receiving in a speech hours before the All-Star Game, though he did not elaborate.
Following multiple player suspensions this season and even a lifetime ban for gambling, along with an umpire who is currently being investigated for a similar infraction, his remarks are concerning.
