Malaysia police arrests seven people involved in illegal gambling syndicate

On October 5, the Royal Malaysian Police arrested seven people, including a 14-year-old, after successfully breaking up an illegal online gambling ring. Following a targeted search of two Kuala Lumpur condominiums, where call centers for illegal online gambling operations were discovered in both, arrests have been made.

The Anti-Vice, Gaming, and Secret Societies Division spearheaded the police operation that exposed a network that allegedly brought in about $2.74 million USD per month. The criminal organization primarily attracted foreigners and Malaysians to engage in illegal online gambling.

The purported monthly profits of around $2.74 million USD portray the magnitude and monetary influence of this illicit syndicate, which predominantly focused on non-natives and individuals from Malaysia. This undertaking not just disrupts the illicit operations but also conveys a powerful statement regarding the implementation of regulations against gambling and the dedication to combatting unlawful wagering in the area.

Illicit gambling syndicates are everywhere. They are the ones running the games. Some of them run the system as underground jungles. It is because of their nefarious activities made some people reluctant to visit the land-based casinos because they are alleged of containing series of criminal activities such as gun running, drug running, cultish, shooting etc.

Illegal gambling is a huge problem in a lots of prayer , and it's good to see the authorities taking action. That being said, I wonder how many more operations like this are still out there. It's scary to think about.

It is a good omen when the police authorities are taking actions to curb the activities of these so called illegal online gambling. Taking this actions would promote the confidence gamblers have in the activities of the remaining casinos. And it would also forestall the establishment of many more illegal casinos.
