Malta Gaming Authority awards first Environmental, Social, and Governance code

The voluntary Environmental, Social, and Governance Code of Good Practice was introduced last year to give gaming operators a structured framework for Environmental, Social, and Governance disclosures, and these seals are the first to be issued under it.

Through two reporting tiers—Tier 1, which establishes foundational standards, and Tier 2, a more comprehensive standard for companies seeking to lead in Environmental, Social, and Governance practices—the Code, which covers 19 topics across the Environmental, Social, and Governance pillars, provides businesses with a way to improve their transparency and accountability.

The Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) Code of Good Practice, introduced last year, offers gaming operators a framework for ESG disclosures. It features two reporting tiers: Tier 1 sets basic standards, while Tier 2 provides a more advanced standard for leading companies. Covering 19 ESG topics, the code aims to enhance transparency and accountability in the industry. These seals are the first to be awarded under the code, promoting responsible practices.
