Man wins £4 million in the lotto but keeps just £2.5 million because of his debatable decision.

A scratch-off lottery winner who chose to keep less of his $5 million (£4 million) jackpot victory has drawn criticism. The Kansas City resident Daniel Grijalva Esquivel took home the New York scratch-off jackpot. Despite winning $5 million, he only kept $3.2 million (£2.5 million) after making a decision that many consider to be questionable. Mr. Esquivel chose to take a single lump sum payment in order to collect his earnings. Lump sum payments often have lower rewards than the alternative of yearly lottery awards.
