Maryland Live! Casino Poised for Expansion as Cordish Continues Investment Spree

Maryland Live! Casino & Hotel is The Cordish Companies’ flagship resort, the property that laid the foundation for the company to eventually become one of the country’s largest gaming and hospitality firms.

Maryland Live! was the first Live!-branded casino to open in 2012. Cordish has since opened two more Live! casinos in neighboring Pennsylvania — Live! Casino & Hotel Philadelphia in 2021, and Live! Casino Pittsburgh a year earlier.

Cordish is currently amid an investment binge, as the company is seeking authorization to build a $1.4 billion integrated casino resort in Petersburg, Va., and continues to pursue a second mini-casino in Pennsylvania.

I think Maryland Live! Casino is set to undergo a major expansion, which includes adding a luxury hotel, a concert hall, a spa, and more gaming spaces. Cordish is also planning to invest in other properties like Texas Live!, a dining and entertainment district in Arlington, Texas, and two mixed-use developments in Florida and Pennsylvania.
