Maryland's first month of online gambling brought in $4000 tax revenue.

Sportsbooks now have a whole new arsenal of arguments they may use to refute claims that they improperly deduct too much in promotional credit from income before paying taxes. The data for the first month of Maryland's online gambling is in, and the amount of promo credit being deducted from the results is so great that the state only made $4,262 in tax income on bets totaling over $186 million.
