Massachusetts Gaming Commission fines Fanatics Sportsbook $10,000 for accepting college game wagers

Fanatics Sportsbook has been fined $10,000 by the Massachusetts Gaming Commission for accepting a wager on a college football game that was played in the state.

As punishment for Fanatics' acceptance of a $50 futures wager on the Boston College vs. Southern Methodist University game, the commission's Investigations and Enforcement Bureau had suggested levying a $10,000 civil assessment penalty against the company.

Unless the games are part of tournaments with four or more teams, the Massachusetts Gaming Commission forbids betting on in-state colleges.
