The Massachusetts Gaming Commission's Community Mitigation Fund has authorized funding for two Workforce Development Grants. Holyoke Community College’s Adult Education and Workforce Development Program and the MassHire Metro North Workforce Board were the two initiatives that were awarded $750,000 each.
The programs are designed to give residents of the Encore Boston Harbor and MGM Springfield area access to career-training opportunities. Funding for workforce development initiatives will come from the grants.
