Massachusetts legislation levels competitive field for lottery sales

New laws that help level the playing field for lotteries between online and physical retailers have been signed into law by the governor of Massachusetts.

The New England Convenience Store and Energy Marketers Association states that the legislation contains several important protections pushed for by the convenience store industry to preserve brick-and-mortar businesses and create a competitive environment when the new system is implemented. The legislation also legalized a new online lottery, called iLottery.
