Member of card-counting syndicate jailed at Marina Bay Sands casino

A participant in a card-counting ring that used illicit gadgets to forecast game results to engage in advantage play at the baccarat tables of the Marina Bay Sands casino has been sentenced to prison. On Thursday, a Taiwanese man, age 28, was given a sentence of 22 months in prison. His mother had asked for forgiveness on his behalf. The syndicate, which included players from Malaysia and Taiwan, employed card counting to increase the odds of wagers made on cards that had already been dealt in 7UP Baccarat games.
