Met Police accused of leaking names responsible for election betting scandal

It has been claimed that the identities of Conservatives who are suspected of placing bets on the general election date have been leaked by the Met Police.

The Gambling Commission is currently looking into four Tory officials and candidates for the party because of claims that they bet on the results of the election.

The Met was notified of the election date prior to its announcement, according to a source close to the Cabinet Office, so that the force had enough time to organize logistics and security.
