Meta Indonesia is being urged to remove online gambling content as soon as possible.

The Ministry of Communication and Informatics has called on the management of Meta in Indonesia to expedite the eradication of illicit online betting material following a stern warning from the government. Meta, the parent company of Facebook, and others, has been directed by Communication and Informatics Minister Budi Arie Setiadi, in a letter dated October 2, to take immediate action against online gambling and slot machine betting content and practices. The minister has given a 24-hour ultimatum to the company to remove all gambling-related content from its digital platforms. In response to the directive, Kansong, a representative from Meta, mentioned that the management is currently in the process of complying with the request and requires additional time to complete the eradication efforts.
