After looking into betting offenses seen during the General Election campaign, the Metropolitan Police has wrapped up its investigation.
The investigation by the Met Police started when rumors started to circulate that law enforcement officials and politicians had bet on the General Election date by using inside information.
The Gambling Commission and the Metropolitan Police both responded to the allegations right away. When misconduct in public office was first reported, the investigation focused on a limited number of cases.
