Mexican online casino leaks user data due to seemingly innocuous mistake

Sensitive user information was exposed to unauthorized parties due to a significant data breach that affected Strendus, one of the top online casinos in Mexico. The company employee is said to have neglected to change the server password, which is why the breach occurred rather than being the consequence of an outside attack.

The Mexican conglomerate Logrand Entertainment Group's online gaming platform, Strendus, allegedly made 85GB of its server authentication logs available to the public. These include hundreds of thousands of entries containing gamblers' personal information.

The real identities of users, as well as their home addresses, jobs, deposit histories, and other information, were among the exposed data.
