MGM investor says casino responded rationally to cyberattack

MGM Resorts International's board of directors member and hedge fund manager claimed that the casino operator handled a September cyberattack in a logical manner. He continued by saying that the operator's stock fell too far, too quickly.

MGM found out on or around September 9th that the infamous hacker collective "Scattered Spider" had gained access to its systems.

At the operator's regional and Las Vegas Strip casino hotels, mayhem broke out. Slot machines stopped working, electronic room keys stopped working, and employee and customer data was exposed. A few days passed before Scattered Spider demanded ransomware.
