MGM Resorts' data breach is projected to cost the gambling behemoth $100 million.

The recent security breach that occurred a month ago, referred to as a cyber intrusion by MGM Resorts, is projected to result in a financial loss of over US$100 million for the prominent casino corporation, as stated by the Las Vegas-based company. The event, which was detected on September 10th, prompted MGM to take immediate action by temporarily shutting down select computer systems in their casinos and hotels across the United States, with the aim of safeguarding sensitive information. MGM further acknowledged that this breach impacted reservations and casino operations in Las Vegas and other states, leading to numerous customer complaints on social media regarding difficulties in conducting credit card transactions, accessing funds from ATMs, and gaining entry into hotel rooms.
