MGM vehemently delivers rebuttal amidst claims of illegalities during license acquisition

The claim that MGM Resorts may have benefited from unlawful internet gambling in Japan through the acquisition of LeoVegas has been refuted by the company. In cooperation with the city of Osaka, MGM obtained the first Japanese casino license in April. However, the "Society for Considering Gambling Addiction Problems" (SCGA), a local anti-casino organization, is pleading for the license of the US operator to be canceled. The reason, according to the group, is that MGM has "likely" benefited from "the criminal proceeds illegally obtained by LeoVegas" in Japan. MGM Resorts Japan highlighted on its website that the group's claims were groundless and may lead to misunderstandings and that they were "completely unacceptable to MGM.
