Miami casino proposal could fail to see light of day due to suppression of ballot initiatives

The Florida governor's attempt to restrict the number of ballot items that, if approved, result in constitutional amendments could put an end to hopes that the Miami region will one day host a casino resort.


Legislators in Florida have put forth bills in recent years that include clauses pertaining to the distances that new gaming establishments could open from Hard Rock casinos.
