For six weeks, a woman from Michigan was unaware that she was in possession of a $1 million lottery ticket. Northville resident Eileen Wickett, who won $1 million in the lotto, was completely unaware of her win for more than a month before claiming it. In the Powerball drawing on February 6, Wickett had matched all five white ball numbers: 5, 11, 22, 23, and 69. The $754.6 million jackpot, which was won and collected by one player in Washington, was just one number away from being won by her. Wickett has made sure she never misses a drawing despite the fact that she was blind to her win for six weeks.

Sounds like this lady just got the shock of a lifetime from outta nowhere, finding out she's sitting on an unclaimed million dollar Powerball ticket she's had for over a month now! Can you imagine casually doing the laundry one day and then digging that ticket out of your pocket, scratching it off on a whim and BAM, instant millionaire! Best of luck to her, she's gonna need it to keep that ticket safe from now on I bet.

Wickett's story highlights the importance of checking lottery tickets, even if you don't think you've won. She was lucky to have held on to her ticket for six weeks, or she would have missed out on her life-changing prize.
