Mississippi casino project in danger of being redundant

One influential lawmaker suggested permitting a commercial casino resort in Jackson, while other proposed laws aim to prevent a $300 million gaming complex from being built on the Gulf Coast.

The former put forth a bill proposing to legalize casinos in Jackson, the capital of the state. Given that Mississippi's gaming industry has long been restricted to the state's coast and Mississippi River, the pitch appeared to be facing significant obstacles from the start.
