Mississippi casinos shut down due to adverse weather conditions

Numerous gambling establishments in Mississippi were forced to close on Tuesday due to snow, ice, and extremely cold temperatures. Some decided to stay open but limit their offerings.

The snow is still falling, and by late Tuesday, three to six inches should have accumulated overall. Lows will fall into the teens and twenties in terms of temperatures. Through Wednesday, wind chills will be in the teens and possibly even the single digits.

A court has ruled that a man accused of killing a young woman at the Palm Casino Resort in Las Vegas will stand trial. He faces charges of sexual assault, murder, and death by strangulation. The trial will take place in Clark County District Court, with the accused potentially facing decades in prison if convicted.
