Missouri Gaming Association appeals no-chance gambling ruling

The Missouri Gaming Association filed an appeal last week against a county circuit judge's decision to dismiss the casino trade group's lawsuit against a company that creates contentious gaming machines that are frequently found in convenience stores, restaurants, bars, and fraternal organizations.

The MGA represents all 13 riverboat casinos in the state, including the one in the state's capital, Jefferson City. The continued proliferation of unregulated slot-like gaming terminals is a major concern for the state gaming industry. The machines resemble slot machines found on riverboats in terms of appearance, sound, and operation, but they differ in that the bet is placed before the next play's result is shown.
