Missouri sports betting referendum reaches ballot

Come November, voters will decide whether or not Missouri becomes a legal state for sports betting.

Regardless of whether the wager was made in person or online, sportsbooks would have to pay a 10% tax on their gross revenue. The state projects that the initial benefit from licensing fees would be roughly $11.75 million, and that the gaming expansion could generate nearly $29 million in tax revenue each year.
