A referendum on in-state retail and internet sports betting has been approved by the secretary of state of Missouri. After a sports betting campaign gathered enough legitimate signatures that were confirmed by state election officials, a measure has been approved by the secretary of state of Missouri and will be on the ballot on November 5.
Missouri would impose a 10% tax on sports betting and donate $5 million to a fund aimed at preventing compulsive gambling. The remainder would be allocated to higher education and public schools.
