Missouri woman charged with fraud after organizing lottery scheme with stolen credit cards

An over $116,000 worth of fraudulent winnings and purchases, including nearly 2,000 lottery tickets purchased with credit cards that were stolen, were the subject of an indictment by a federal grand jury against a Missouri woman.

She was accused of a scheme to defraud the lottery of cash prizes in a two-count indictment filed in Springfield, Missouri.

According to the indictment, Young had bought at least 1,957 lottery tickets worth $62,082 using credit cards that had been stolen. From tickets bought with the cards, she and her accomplices took home $54,248 in cash prizes.
