Moe than 500,000 Ohio Lottery players notified of data theft

Cybercriminals have stolen the personal information of over half a million lottery players who have a fondness for powerball. This is highly unpleasant news, which they should certainly be receiving by now.

Ohio Lottery says as much, having this week finally disclosed in a regulatory filing the extent of its Christmas Eve security breach.

About 538,959 people had their names and social security numbers made public as a result of the State lottery's conclusion of its inquiry into the incident.
