Taiwan has blocked access to a U.S. website accepting bets on its presidential election with local cooperation.
The Criminal Investigation Bureau clarified that the block is local allowing access outside Taiwan.
Recent arrests include 11 individuals caught betting on the election with around US$8,000 in cryptocurrency seized.
17 people were arrested in mid Dec for similar activities. Those profiting from election bets may face up to five years in prison and a fine of up to NT$500,000.
