MP slams betting industry as William Hill set to agree deal with Scottish league

According to reports, the Scottish Professional Football League and betting company William Hill are looking to sponsor each other for £10 million. This would be a major setback for Scottish sport, according to the MP for Inverclyde.

As vice-chair of Westminster's all-party parliamentary group on gambling-related harm and a longtime advocate for increased public awareness of the harm caused by gambling, the MP has expressed her disapproval of the move in response to news of it.

It's critical to protect children and the weak from exposure to advertisements for gambling, he stated.
