In this game there's always stress, but my worst moments came when the cards just weren't runnin' my way and the chips were fading fast. Had a heater going for days at one game, thought I was bulletproof. Next hand, ace-king offsuit, gets raised three times. Call. Flop ace high, check-raise. Turn jack, bet triple pot. River blank, all-in. Heart sinkin' as he shows pocket six-six. Board pairs, he cleans me out.
The despair and frustration felt like a kick to the gut. Sometimes you just gotta walk away when you're seeing shadows and the bad beats seem personal. Take a deep breath, remember it's just cards and the spot will come again. But in that moment, losing it all on one hand sure did put my spine through the grinder!
