Nagasaki officials seeking clarity on reasons behind casino denial

Officials in Tokyo are being questioned by the Nagasaki government about the reasons behind the denial of the integrated casino resort in the prefecture late last year.

The Japan Tourism Agency, which is in charge of examining integrated resort proposals from prefectures and cities, announced in late December that Nagasaki's proposal for a casino resort had been turned down. The organization questioned whether the development group with the roughly $3.1 billion plan had the financial capacity to actually build the resort.
