National Indian Gaming Commission fires shots after rivals endure ransomware attacks

The National Indian Gaming Commission recently criticized Caesars Entertainment and MGM Resorts International in relation to recent ransomware attacks on those commercial operators, in what appears to be a clear instance of "kicking them while they're down."

The NIGC emphasized its three-pronged strategy for cyber security in the statement, with particular emphasis on administrative, physical, and technical measures.

Commercial operators may benefit from adopting the cybersecurity strategies used by tribal rivals. After all, cybersecurity firms want to make money, so they won't likely refuse to provide a good or service to a business just because that client is a rival.
