National Lottery winner seeks benefits after spending £80,000 lottery prize within weeks

After spending his winnings in a matter of weeks, a man who won £80,000 on the National Lottery wants to "go back on benefits."

However, he failed to report his lottery win to the Department for Work and Pensions, and when the tax office discovered the money in his bank account, they filed a report on him.

Consequently, he was no longer eligible for income support, housing benefit, or council tax reduction from the Department for Work and Pensions.

However, by November 2017, Millar had completely depleted his winnings and had to make a plea to the Department for Work and Pensions in order to receive his benefits again.
