National self-exclusion register in Australia to be renewed

The Australian government has assigned former senior public servant Richard Eccles to review BetStop, the nation's self-exclusion register.

BetStop is a free way for consumers to block themselves from all Australian-licensed online and phone bookmakers.

Sign-ups are not permitted to open new gambling accounts, and betting companies are not permitted to take bets or send marketing materials to BetStop members.
