Netherlands gambling regulator upgrades Cruks API aimed at improved data control

The Cruks API has undergone a major upgrade, which the Gaming Authority has announced, with the goal of strengthening overall control and expediting the processing of personal data exceptions.

Currently, there are about 75,000 users registered on Cruks, the self-exclusion register for players who want to abstain from gambling.

Operators of gaming services are required to verify that players are not on the Cruks register by running a check against it. The original purpose of this register was to store ordinary personal data, but unusual cases caused problems.
