New casino hotel mooted for prominent Las Vegas nightclub spot

On Las Vegas' Historic Westside, a developer from Beverly Hills has proposed to construct a 60-story mixed-use casino resort and residential complex. At its meeting on Tuesday, April 1, the Las Vegas Planning Commission will examine Shlomo Meiri's proposal for the Harlem Nights resort and offer suggestions. Mieri's plans include 458 residential apartments, 764 hotel rooms, a 900-seat theater, a rooftop bar, retail space, and restaurants. The cost would be in the neighborhood of $700M. The project's name is derived from the 1989 Eddie Murphy and Richard Pryor movie, which portrays the renowned African American neighborhood of New York City in the 1930s.

This is a welcoming development in Las Vegas. I give kudos to the management to have consider Las Vegas as the best location for the project. It is a laudable achievement for the authority of the town itself. This project when completed would be rated high as Las Vegas is known to have poor hospitality.
