In a recent report, GambleAware emphasized the statistically higher rates of gambling harm observed in minority communities in the UK. According to the latest analysis, which has the backing of the University of Manchester, minority groups experience gambling harm at a rate of 42%, compared to 20% for white British majority groups. In spite of this, just 31% of members of minority groups in Britain gamble, compared to 48% of white British people. Also, it was discovered that white British people were three times less likely to turn to gambling as a coping strategy for life's hardships, with 18% of gambling minority groups confessing to doing so compared to 6% of white gambling groups.
