New gambling laws could see Sky remove horse-racing from TV

A bill that would create a gambling regulatory body and safeguard minors and those at risk of developing a gambling addiction has been proposed by a junior minister for law reform.

As stated by the Government, the purpose of the Bill is to guarantee that gaming is done in an equitable and transparent manner. Safeguards against problem gambling are also included.

According to Sky Sports, such a prohibition might result in the removal of TV coverage of greyhound and horse racing from residences and commercial establishments.
