The fact that the Division of Gaming Enforcement discovered that Borgata had understated its gross revenue by $365,161 is troubling, especially because it translates to them paying less taxes than they should have for the year. The imposition of a $1.3 million fine on the casino signifies how seriously the authorities are taking this matter.

The 90-day time limit given to Borgata to pay the fine in order to save its license adds further pressure to rectify the situation promptly.
