Given that the Blue Jackets have been eliminated from the playoff race for what seems like an eternity, there is little to enjoy about Columbus in this game. The Blue Jackets have won three of their previous ten games, all in OT, and two of those victories came against clubs that are currently out of the postseason picture. They have a terrible road record this season and have conceded an astounding forty goals in their previous seven road games. Even though New Jersey performs better on the road than at home, they benefit from playing a doormat club that has nothing to lose. With yet another strong offensive performance, the Devils easily win this game.

While it is true that the Blue Jackets have struggled recently and have been eliminated from playoff contention, it's important to not underestimate their ability to play spoiler. They still have talented players like Patrik Laine and Seth Jones who can have an impact on the game.

Additionally, while the Devils have performed better on the road than at home, they still have a losing record overall and have struggled with consistency throughout the season.

Ultimately, this game is unpredictable and could go either way. Both teams have something to prove and will be playing with pride. It will come down to which team can execute their game plan and capitalize on their opportunities.
