New Jersey forms responsible gambling task force

The state of New Jersey now has a Responsible Gaming Task Force thanks to an executive order signed by the governor. The task force will look into a number of issues related to problem gambling, including how it affects vulnerable populations.

The seven public officials that make up the task force will be led by the attorney general.

About 6% of New Jerseyans are considered to be at high risk for problem gambling, which is higher than the national average, according to a 2023 report from the Rutgers University Center for Gambling Studies that was cited in the governor's statement.
