New Jersey union and attorney general ask judge to dismiss anti-smoking lawsuit

A different union's lawsuit, which aims to outlaw smoking at the city's nine casinos, was asked to be dismissed by a judge on Monday, along with the main union representing Atlantic City's casino workers and the attorney general of New Jersey.

In a filing to the state Superior Court, Local 54 of the Unite Here union claimed that if smoking were outlawed, thirty percent of the ten thousand workers it represents would lose their jobs and their ability to provide for their families.
